Pearls of Southern Dalmatia DELUXE by Bike + Boat

from/to Trogir

Map South Dalmatia DELUXE

Route

Tour profile: Level 2-3

The cycling stages require a good basic condition, which should be acquired as a regular cyclist. The cycling stages of 30 - 60 km in length lead through hilly and mountainous terrain and are cycled without time constraints. Steeper or longer climbs can also be mastered. The tours go up to an altitude between 200 and 700 meters. The roads are mainly asphalted and not very busy outside the vacation periods. In principle, on our e-bike & ship tours there is also the possibility to participate with a gravel bike or road bike. However, the guided group pace is oriented towards the e-bike riders. Those who ride a gravel bike on an e-bike tour should not be surprised about the fast basic pace.

Day 1: Trogir (Embarkation) – Hvar Island

Individual arrival by car to Trogir or by plane to Split airport, which is about 3 mi./ 5 km away from the harbor of Trogir. After check in on the motor yacht between 2 and 2:30 pm the first cruise starts about 3 pm from Trogir to Hvar Island. Stari Grad is the second largest settlement on the Island of Hvar and well known for its important harbour.

Day 2: Islands of Hvar and Vis, approx. 20 km

Today’s first cycle tour leads us along the almost traffic free pass road through nicely set small villages. After breakfast in Stari Grad to the capital city of Hvar. We will have plenty of time on arrival, to visit the magnificent Renaissance Square of Hvar town and enjoy the view up to the Spanish Fortress situated high above the city. Back on board again we cross over to the island of Vis.

Day 3: Vis Island, approx. 32 km

Vis is the furthermost island from mainland Croatia. A Greek colony called Issa has been on the island 2,300 years ago. Due to its strategic location it was a military zone until 1995 and prohibited for foreign tourists. Today we have the opportunity to explore the lovely island by bicycle. Alternatively there is a possibility to participate in a three-hour jeep tour around the island (about 35 Euro). After cycling the boat takes us to the Island of Korèula.

Day 4: Korcula Island, approx. 60 km

Today you will explore the island of Korčula by bike and enjoy your lunch break in one of the local restaurants. The tranquility and seclusion of lush gardens with large cypress trees characterize the image of perhaps the most beautiful Dalmatian island. Your bike tour will take you through the village of Blato, built like Rome on seven hills, over the pass road to the dreamlike bay of Pupnat and finally to Korčula town, whose beautiful old town with its fishbone-like lanes invites you to roam. Overnight stay in Korčula town.

Day 5: Brač Island, approx. 45 km

You will cross over to the island of Brač, famous for its brilliant white limestone, which was used, among others, for the White House in Washington and the Reichstag in Berlin. After an extensive swim stop and lunch break, you will start your bike tour from Pučišća. The first climb offers breathtaking views over the neighboring islands before you cycle over the island ridge and then enjoy the descent to the port town of Postira. From here you will return to the ship in Pučišća.

Day 6: Split (approx. 17 km) or rafting on the Cetina

During breakfast you will take a boat to Split. Today you have a choice between a bike tour or a rafting experience on the Cetina River. If you choose the rafting tour, a transfer bus will pick you up from the ship. The rafting tour (not included in the tour price) is a special nature experience and takes place with trained guidance. After this adventure, the transfer will take you back to the ship.

In the meantime, cyclists will take a short but panoramic tour to the green heart of Split - Mount Marjan. Afterwards, there will be enough time for extensive refreshment on the beach. In the afternoon, a guided tour of Split, whose old town is a World Heritage Site, awaits you.

Day 7: Šolta Island, approx. 20 km

After the short crossing to Rogač on the island of Šolta, you will set off for your last bike ride. Walled fields, numerous olive groves, carob and fig trees line the road. The spicy smell of lavender and rosemary accompanies you as you ride across this quiet island. In Rogač we load the bikes and enjoy the last crossing back to Trogir, where there is still enough time to visit the old town, which is a World Heritage Site. Traditionally, the last evening before disembarkation is celebrated as a cheerful get-together of guests and crew/tour guides.

Day 8: Trogir

After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am and individual trip home or extended stay in Croatia.
