Experience an unforgettable cycling cruise in the Kvarner Bay aboard the luxurious motor yacht Andela Lora. Our journey takes you through thousands of small islands surrounded by rugged cliffs, fragrant green pine forests, and dreamy coves, all nestled in the crystal-clear waters of the Croatian Adriatic. With bicycle and ship, you’ll glide from island to island, discovering breathtaking landscapes teeming with lush nature. Enjoy the crossings on our spacious sun deck and indulge in refreshing swims in the azure blue sea.
Each day brings a new surprise, whether it’s exploring the medieval old town of Rab, cycling along the car-free panoramic road of Dugi Otok, or immersing yourself in the tranquil island life of Molat. The tour itinerary bears some resemblance to our regular cycling cruise in the Kvarner Bay, offering an excellent alternative if your desired date in this region is already fully booked.
Route
Cycling tours through hilly to mountainous terrain, with some steep climbs up to approximately 400-700 meters in elevation. All tours, including altimeters, are easily manageable with electronic assistance. Requires confident riding on winding descents, uneven asphalt, and occasionally gravel paths. Suitable for experienced cyclists accustomed to longer daily rides.
The roads are mostly paved and quiet outside of holiday seasons. On the island of Krk, a short section runs over unpaved gravel and forest paths. On the island of Lošinj, the tour follows a narrow waterfront promenade, where particularly careful and adapted cycling is required.
Traffic should be expected in and around coastal towns. Some sections of the route are also somewhat busier on the islands of Cres and Krk. There are no designated cycle paths in the Kvarner Bay. The cycling tours take place on public roads, preferably on quiet secondary roads.
Individual arrival in Omišalj, a tranquil harbor town on the island of Krk. Use the time before embarkation to take your first dip in the Adriatic Sea or enjoy an ice cream at the ice cream parlor located directly at the harbor. After checking in on your motor yacht between 2:00 and 2:30 p.m., the ship will depart at 3:00 p.m. and take you to Cres in four hours. In the evening, you will take a short tour with the tour guide through the Venetian-influenced old town of Cres.
After breakfast, you will start your first bike tour, which will take you from Cres town to Martinšćica. Here, your ship will be waiting for you for lunch and to take you to the island of Lošinj. If the weather is good, you can take a refreshing swim break on the way before your ship reaches the old seafaring and spa town of Mali Lošinj with its large harbor basin, numerous cafés, and colorfully painted house facades. Here, many beautiful cafés and bars invite you to enjoy a sundowner on the lively waterfront promenade.
The extensive promenade, which winds its way along many picturesque bays, takes you to the southernmost part of the island and the picturesque town of Veli Lošinj. The small harbor with its numerous fishing boats is dominated by the mighty Church of St. Anthony. After lunch, the ship sets sail and takes you to the flower island of Molat, where you will cover another short stage by bike and spend the night.
In the morning, the ship will take you to the spice island of Dugi Otok. Surrounded by pine forests, agaves, and tamarisk trees, your bike tour begins in Božava Bay on a road that is almost completely free of traffic. First, you will head to the northernmost point of the island. The old lighthouse, built during the Austrian era, and the wonderful view offer some wonderful photo opportunities. From here, you continue south: enjoy the panorama along the “long island” on your way to Savar, where the ship is already waiting to take you to Zadar, which was the political, cultural, and spiritual center of Dalmatia for centuries. Three thousand years of history shape the cityscape here, and there is much to marvel at: the mighty fortress wall with its defensive towers, the loggia, and the early Romanesque St. Donatus Basilica.
After a morning crossing, you will reach the island of Pag. Many fig and olive trees thrive in the rugged but charming landscape of this island. Over the centuries, numerous stone walls have been built here by the inhabitants to protect themselves from the wind. You will cycle from Novalja along the increasingly narrow peninsula to the sea at Lun, from where you will cross over to Rab. The island of Rab is one of the sunniest places in Europe. In the Middle Ages, the fortified island capital of the same name was built on a wedge-shaped headland – one of the highlights of the trip. The four famous bell towers characterize the image of this beautiful, romantic town. After dinner, many cozy cafés beckon in the narrow streets.
Today, you will get to know the enchanting island of Rab on a beautiful round trip by bike. At lunchtime, the ship will be waiting for you in the harbor directly in front of the old town of Rab to take you to Jablanac near the picturesque Zavratnica Fjord. Later, we will cross over to the neighboring island of Krk. You will spend the evening in the historic town of the same name.
After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am and individual trip home or extended stay in Croatia.
We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organizational requirements. Sometimes the tour could be conducted in reverse order. You may find further details in your booking information package.
