Route
Tour profile: Level 2-3
The cycling stages require the participant to have a good basic condition, which should be acquired as a regular cyclist. The tours go up to an altitude between 400 and 700 meters. The cycling stages of 30 - 60 km length lead through hilly and mountainous terrain and are cycled without time pressure. Steeper or longer climbs also have to be mastered. The roads are mainly asphalted and not very busy outside the vacation season. Instead of a bike tour, it is also possible to take a half or full day of swimming on the ship.
Day 1: Dubrovnik (Embarkation)
Individual arrival to Dubrovnik. Embarkation between 2 and 2.30 pm in the city port Gruž. Around 4.30 we offer you a guided city tour of Dubrovnik. Take the opportunity to enjoy this extraordinary city also in the evening!
Day 2: Dubrovnik – Island Šipan – Island Mljet, approx. 11 km & 25 km
In the morning you are crossing to the nearby island of Šipan, which is the largest of the Elaphiti islands, but still rather small. A great place for your first bike tour! After the tour, the trip continues by boat to the green island of Mljet. Upon arrival at the port of Pomena, you will enjoy a tour by bike through the Mljet National Park. Your ship will then be waiting for you in Pomena for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Pelješac-Peninsula: Trstenik – Orebić – Island Korčula, approx. 25 km
During breakfast you will cross over to the port of Trstenik on the Pelješac peninsula. Pelješac is recognizable from afar by the impressive 1000 m high Sv. Ilija mountain range. Today’s bike ride will take you along the coast from Trstenik to Orebić, where the boat will be waiting for you with a delicious lunch. After lunch on board, you can relax during the crossing to the island of Korčula until your arrival in the picturesque island capital of the same name. Here you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the herringbone old town streets and hear fascinating anecdotes about the history of the town and the island.
Day 4:Korčula Island: Vela Luka – Korčula town, approx. 60 km
On your bike tour today you will explore the entire island of Korčula - for many it is one of the most beautiful islands in Dalmatia. Mediterranean climate and breathtaking scenery await you. Marvel at beautiful views, rich vegetation and deep blue waters. Enjoy dinner on board and end the active day relaxing in the large, sheltered bay of Vela Luka.
Day 5: Island of Vis, approx. 32 km
In the morning enjoy a breakfast cruise to the island of Vis with a possible swim stop before arrival. Vis is the farthest inhabited island in Croatia from the mainland. A Greek colony called Issa was founded here 2300 years ago. Due to its strategic location, the island of Vis was a restricted military area and closed to foreign tourists until 1995. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to explore the enchanting island by bike. From the town of Vis you will cycle once around the entire island with a coffee stop in the port of Komiža.
Day 6: Island Hvar: Hvar City – Jelsa – Stari Grad, approx. 40 km
The day begins with a relaxing boat ride to Hvar town on the island of the same name. Use the time before the start of the bike tour for a little stroll through the town. Today’s bike tour takes you from Hvar town through small villages and lavender fields over the island’s ridge to the port town of Jelsa. The descent down to Jelsa offers breathtaking views. After an ice cream or coffee break in Jelsa, the bike tour continues through the picturesque town of Vrboska and through the famous Stari Grader field parceled out by ancient Greeks, now a UNESCO protected site. Your destination today is the artists’ village of Stari Grad, where you will spend the night.
Day 7: Island Brač: Milna – Pučišća, approx. 40 km
In the morning you will cross over to the island of Brač, famous for its brilliant white limestone, which was used, among other things, for the White House in Washington and the construction of the German Reichstag building in Berlin. Once on Brač, you will start your bike tour in Milna. As you climb the island, you will be offered spectacular views of the Dalmatian coast. Then continue along the coast of Postira to the picturesque harbor town of Pučišća, where your ship awaits you for lunch and the final crossing of the week to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Split. During a guided tour of Split, you will have the opportunity to visit the former palace of Emperor Diocletian and learn more about its transformation into today’s Old Town of Split. During a convivial dinner on board the ship, you can look back on a wonderful journey through Dalmatia with your fellow passengers and tour guides.
Day 8: Split (Disembarkation)
After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am and individual trip home or extended stay in Croatia.
