Route
Tour profile: Level 1-2
The bike tour around Lake Garda is relatively flat, but there are a few climbs. This tour is not recommended for children under 14 years!
Day 1: Arrival
Individual arrival at the hotel in Bussolengo, 15 km from Verona, located between Lake Garda and the typical hills lined with vineyards.
Day 2: roundtrip Bussolengo – Verona. approx. 40 km
Bussolengo is located directly on the Adige River in the middle of the hilly landscape of the Venetian Prealps. On the first stage you follow the course of the river to Verona in the romantic, elegant and flourishing city of Romeo and Juliet. Verona’s old town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000 and is a place full of history, culture, architecture and joie de vivre. Over the hills of the southern Lake Garda region you cycle back to Bussolengo via Sommacampagna.
Day 3: Bussolengo – Salò, approx. 55 km
The second stage takes you to the shores of Lake Garda at Peschiera. Other lively stops along the route are Desenzano, Padenghe and Moniga. The day’s destination is Salò, situated in a bay on the west side of Lake Garda. Typical for Salò are the branching streets and alleys and especially the famous "Lungolago". Get yourself an ice cream in one of the many gelaterias and stroll leisurely along the lake promenade.
Day 4: Salò – Limone, approx. 30 km + ferry ride
Today you cycle leisurely along the water to Gargnano. From there you take the ferry (ticket included) directly to Limone, known not only for its lemon gardens. Afterwards you follow the "most spectacular bike path in Europe". On a section of a few kilometers, the new bike path floats partially free above the lake - 50 m above the water.
Day 5: Limone – Malcesine, approx. 20 - 60 km + boat ride
You will pass the two northernmost towns on Lake Garda, Riva del Garda and Torbole. The northern Lake Garda region is particularly popular with water sports enthusiasts, climbers and cyclists. On the east side of the lake, you will finally reach Malcesine at the foot of Monte Baldo. Shortcut option by boat across the lake (ticket for 1 boat ride on this day included).
Day 6: Monte Balto – Garda, approx. 45 km
Today’s stage is a clear contrast to the rest of the tour - by cable car/transfer (ticket included) you get to the starting point at almost 1,700 m on the ridge of Monte Baldo. A wonderfully situated mountain road with breathtaking views then leads back downhill to more "Mediterranean" regions, a true pleasure tour. The stage destination is the town of Garda, where you return from the quiet hinterland to the lively shore.
Day 7: Garda – Bussolengo, approx. 20 - 50 km
From Garda you cycle along the lake to Bardolino and on to Lazise. Be sure to stop again in one of the many restaurants on the waterfront or wander through the alleys of the towns of Bardolino and Lazise. Finally, the tour continues through the hilly backcountry to Bussolengo.
