Tour: A - Danube Cycle Path Anniversary Tour

Good trip.Beautiful Weather-mostly. 2 days if sprinkles. It would have been convenient to have distances to ferries, points of interest. We passed by the first ferry, because it came up more quickly than we expected. It would have been very nice to be picked up in Grein earler than 5:30. We had gotten to Grein early expecting to have a restful evening up on the mountain.

Tour: D/CH/A/FL - Alpen Rhine

this trip, which has you riding in spectacular swiss countryside, through lovely austrian villages and along the divine lake constance, is well worth considering. if you're not a frequent & fit rider, definitely go for the electric-bikes, as the daily rides are around 60 km, with the first few days having a lot of (beautiful) hills/mountains. you ride in relative isolation for the first few days, and if you have like we did, blue skies, the scenery is unrivalled. in contrast, there's plenty of action down on the flat-paths around the lake. we loved this trip and would recommend it highly. the hotels were good and the bikes were excellent.

Tour: B/NL - Limburg bike & boat

Actually, you are rather lucky....we, and another 4 Australians and 4 Americans had a week of barge boot-camp, courtesy of the bullying owner and his first mate, AKA Captain Mart and Miss Elly who own and operate the beautiful restored old barge built in the 1920s called the MS Miro. It was to be our "floating hotel" for the 7 day Limburg bike & barge experience upon which we embarked in Maastricht, NL. It is kept spotlessly clean and “ship shape” by this duo, who act not only as cooks, cleaners and skippers, but also tour guides and, sergeant-majors! The riot-act is read as you are shown your room, and again when the “briefing” on the first morning occurs, and also when you unwittingly break one of the unknown rules! Information is also deliberately with-held, and life aboard this "hotel boat" is anything but relaxing. I thought it was a cultural thing, and for us laid-back Aussies it can be quite affronting and one has to try not to take it personally. Words get lost in translation, and interactions can seem dogmatic and pedantic. Finding your room “rearranged” daily feels particularly invasive (especially when your underwear is moved to the “right place”) as does having your toiletries bag shifted. But it’s the non-verbal “grumpiness” that is difficult to ignore. It was like Fawlty Towers on steroids, and it really was so bad that it became funny. However, coming from the hospitality industry, we know how challenging it can be to have to deal with people day in- day out, but one needs to always show patience and generosity, and perhaps these two have been in the game for far too long. That said, the other aspects of the tour are exemplary….excellent breakfasts, amazing 8-gear electric bikes and comfortable rooms with ensuite facilities – all kept incredibly clean. But if want want a memorable (for the right reasons) holiday - avoid the MV Miro's bike & barge holidays at all costs!

Tour: A - Danube Cycle Path Anniversary Tour

We just finished our bike tour. It was absolutely amazing. We would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to see all the beauty that awaits you along this stunning part of the Danube. It was well marked. If we have a complaint it is better directions to find the hotels. It was the most stressful part of the day.
The breakfasts at all the hotels were top notch. We didn't have the dinner plan which is better so we could sample different restaurants in each city.
The most beautiful part is the wine country of Wachau. Breathtaking scenery.
Rad and Reisen were very professional to deal with and answered every single question I had by email almost instantly.
