All Ukrainian Tours Overview
The land between the Carpathiens and Podolians. After some hours bus transfer from Krakau you feel like you are in bygone times. Experience the pure nature, the countless cultural and senic highlights as well as the ukrainian hospitality.
An easy to moderate bike trip: through the Carpathiens along river valleys on quiet country roads; the valley of Dnjestr is flat, Podolien flat to moderate. Difference in altidude: from 50 - 100 m, when crossing the river gorge
Individual arrival. At midday you will meet the tour guide. 2 pm bus transfer to Ustrzyki Dolne (a little town on the border of the Ukraine).
After entrance to the Ukraine you will have a stop in Terlo. Here you start your first bike leg through colorful carpathien villages. You reach the valley of the upper Dnjestr in Staryj Sambir. Along this river we reach today´s destination Sambir.
The landscape is changing very fast - in former times the river Dnjestr flows through a giant mashland. Through agient allies of trees we cycle to Drogobytsch, a former centre of the salt mining.
Today you reach the generous reconstruced health resort Truskawez, which disposes a lot of mineral springs. Back again into the Dnjestr valley. This valley part is a nature reserve. In the forest at Mikolaiv you will see bizarr formations of lime stone and cave settlements. Afterward you get in the bus for district metropolis Ivano-Frankivsk. The well preserved old city welcomes you with a lot of flair for an evening sight seeing.
You get to know the spectacular landscape formation of Posolians: "Yar" means gorge, which is a very deeply gashed river canyon. You follow the run of the river Dschuryn over the former polish fortress (Zalischtschyki) till you reach the river Dnjestr.
At the old border area there met the nobleness republic Poland, the russian and the osmanian empire. The land south to the river Dnjestr belonged till 1939 to Romania. The stoned evidences of the metropolis Czernowitz remind you to the "golden ages" of the K u. K monarchy.
Passing wine villages and fruit tree plantations you reach again the Dnjestr valley. In the afternoon you reach your last destination: Kamjanez Podolskyj, one of the oldest ukrainian cities.
Via bus transfer you reach the city Lemberg, the most important city in the western Ukraine. You have a short bike ride through the waste green land and visit the old city.
In mid morning you have free time. In the afternoon you get back to Krakow with the bus. In the early evening you reach Krakow and have your last overnight there.
