Tour profile:

Level 1-2, from 0 to 390m each day, mostly on asphalted roads, some short stretches are made on white roads. The tour is sligthy hilly. So it is a easy-medium tour, not suitable for children under 12 years old.

Day 1: Viareggio

Individual arrival to the port of Viareggio. Embarkation at 6 p.m. Welcome drink and presentation of the programme.

Day 2: Viareggio - Lucca - Viareggio (approx. 32km/20miles or 64km/40miles)

Departure from Viareggio, for the cycling tour towards Lucca, crossing the Natural Reserve of Massaciuccoli Lake. Arrival in Lucca, visit of the city, bike tour on the ancient city walls surrounding the historical city centre. Return to Viareggio by train. It is also possible to come back to Viareggio by bike, completing in this way a circular stage. Dinner and overnight in the port of Viareggio.

Day 3: Viareggio - Marina di Pisa (approx. 40km/25miles)

Departure from Viareggio by bike, toward Pisa, cycling along the sea, on the borders of the National Park of San Rossore. Arrival in Pisa, break in Piazza dei Miracoli, possibility of visiting the Tower and the Cathedral. We cycle towards the port of Marina di Pisa. Return on board the caique, dinner and overnight in roadstead.

Day 4: Marina di Pisa - Cala dei Medici - San Vicenzo (approx. 56km/35miles)

You sail with the caique from Marina di Pisa towards Cala dei Medici (Rosignano Solvay), you cross by bike the wonderful pinewood of Tombolo di Bibbona and you continue towards Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, to finally reach the port of San Vincenzo. Dinner and overnight in roadstead in San Vincenzo.

Day 5: San Vicenzo - Marino di Campo/Isola d´Elba (approx. 34km/21miles)

From San Vincenzo, we cycle towards the village of Campiglia Marittima, we reach the Gulf of Baratti and Populonia, with its several Etruscan archaeological remains. After the visit of the archaeological sites, embarkation in Baratti, and sailing towards the Elba Island. Dinner and overnight in roadstead in Marina di Campo.

Day 6: Marino di Campo - Porto Azzuro (approx. 38km/24miles)

From Marina di Campo, you explore the southern part of the Island, to reach the little bourg of Fetovaia. We cycle then to the village of Lacona up to Porto Azzurro. You are free for dinner. Overnight in the port of Porto Azzurro.

Day 7: Porto Azzuro - Cavo - San Vicenzo (approx. 25km/16miles)

The itinerary of today develops in one of the most charming landscapes of the whole island. From Porto Azzurro we cycle along the panoramic road of the east part of the island, to finally reach Rio nell’Elba, Rio Marina and Cavo. Embarkation and sailing to San Vincenzo. Dinner and overnight in the port of San Vincenzo.

Day 8: San Vicenzo

Disembarkation at 09.a.m. Individual departure or extension.

The direction of the tour will be in the reverse way each week: one week it will start in Viareggio, and one week it will start in San Vincenzo.

We reserve the right to make alterations to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions organizational requirements!!!

Arrival | Parking | Departure

Station: Viareggio/San Vincenzo. Frequent trains between Pisa Centrale and Viareggio (duration 15-20min.) or San Vincenzo (duration 1 hour).

Airport: Pisa - continue by train to Pisa Centrale (duration 5 minutes)

Parking: it is possible to park at the Marina (port) of Viareggio or at the Marina (port) of San Vincenzo.

Transfer back to starting point: Viareggio/San Vincenzo
by train, or we also offer private transfers (on request).

Your ship "Caique Mariagiovanna"
Mariagiovanna is a 24m long and 6,1m wide caique, a traditional Turkish vessel built with mahagony wood. The gulet gathers 6 cabins: 2 double cabins with 3rd bed and 4 twin bed cabins. Size of a cabin: about 9 m². All cabins are equipped with private facilities with hot and cold water, and air conditioning (can be regulated). Some cabins have windows, some cabins have portholes, some have both (all can be opened).
