The route winds its way along the Mincio and the Po, penetrating into rural areas of the Italien countryside which are still uncontaminated, and ends in the warm embrace of the Venetian Lagoon. This territory has been reclaimed from the marshes for many centuries now and is framed by green pine-woods, which offer protection for numerous species of animals. The work of man overlaps nature in a constant game of roles: reclaimed land alternates with natural canals, fishermen's huts are camouflaged in the reeds, and bridges formed of boats reduce the distances between strips of sand.

Tour profile:
Level 1, entirely on level ground and the daily cycling stages vary from 30km/18 miles - 55km/34 miles.
Day 1: Mantova
Individual arrival. Embarkment at 4 pm. The guide will await you at 7 pm for a welcome meeting.
Day 2: Mantova - Governolo - Zelo (approx. 50 km/31 miles)
In the morning the ship will take you to Governolo, where the largest river valley of Italy is situated. You start your first bike leg along the river Po till Ostiglia, with its mediaeval castle ruins. Continuing along the canal Bianco you reach the boat in Zelo.
Day 3: Zelo – Ferrara – Adria (ca. 50 km/31 miles + 60 km by bus)
After breakfast you bike to Ferrara. The "city of bicycles" will impress you with its forceful city wall. After a short bus ride to Adria you have time to visit the former greek harbour city.
Day 4: Adria - Porto Viro - Albarella (ca. 40/55 km/ 25/34 miles)
By boat to Porto Viro. From here you cycle through the labyrinth of the Po delta. Your today´s destination is Albarella, a private island with old tradition. If the water level of the Po is too low you start the bike leg in Adria.
Day 5: Albarella - Chioggia (ca. 40 km/ 25 miles)
You cycle between land and water, because you are situated between the Po delta and the mouth of the river Etsch. You reach your today´s destination in Chioggia, called the "little Venice".
Day 6: Chioggia - Venedig (ca. 30km/19 miles)
Vita Pugna takes you to the Oasis of Ca' Roman, a sandy island surrounded by pine-woods. Pedalling along the lagoon, you reach Pellestrina: from here, you ride on the new cycle path to the ferry station. A short boat ride takes you back up to the Lido. Overnight on the island of Giudecca, which is quiet close to the famous "Marcus place".
Day 7: Venice
Today you can visit the beautiful historic town of the "Serenissima" or the island of the lagune.
Day 8: Venice
Individual departure or extension.
