Day 1: Siena

Individual arrival.

Day 2: Siena - Radda in Chianti (approx. 45 km/28 miles)

From Siena you start to head north towards the beautiful village of Radda in Chianti. This town is situated on a hill covered with woods and extensive vineyards. In Radda the best olive oil of the region is being produced.

Day 3: Radda in Chianti - Greve (approx. 40 km/25 miles)

Today on your bike leg leads you through the gentle hills of the Tuscany. A breathtaking view and landscape will accompany you through the famous wineyards of the Chianti region.

Day 4: Greve - Florence (approx. 40 km/25 miles)

Florence - the capital of Tuscany - is located on the banks of the river Arno, in the very heart of Italy. Enjoy this very unique city when drinking your café latte on the Piazza della Signoria with the sculpture of David by Michelangelo in your sight. Don't miss a visit of the world famous "Uffizi Gallery".

Day 5: Florence – Tavarnelle (approx. 45 km/28 miles)

The village of Tavernelle Val di Pesa has Roman origin; it is named after the ancient taverns offering accomodation and refreshments - located along the road which connected Florence to Siena and then onto Rome. The territory of Tavernelle, like the entire Chianti region, has a particularly rich heritage of rural buildings: churches, oratories, chapels, villas and farms.

Day 6: Tavarnelle - Colle Val d'Elsa (approx. 45 km/28 miles)

San Gimignano, which is located on a hill will enchant you today - its towers (built in the 11th and 13th centuries) are dominating the entire Elsa Valley. You continue on to Certalod, where you can visit the "Palazzo Pretorio". Your aim today - Val d'Elsa, is situated on the Via Francigena - a is a historical itinerary leading to Rome from Canterbury, a major route which in the past was used by thousands of pilgrims on their way to Rome.

Day 7: Colle Val d'Elsa - Siena (approx. 35 km/22 miles)

From the Val d'Elsa valley you cycle back to the beautiful town of Siena. Siena preserves its medieval character to a remarkable degree, and has been largely unspoilt by new buildings. Its beautiful Gothic buildings include the Cathedral and Palazzo Pubblico on the cahracteristic Piazza del Campo with its tower (La Mangia), as well as numerous churches.

Day 8: Siena
