Day 1: Arrival

Individual arrival to Rhodes. The transfer from the airport to the first/starting hotel is included.

Day 2: Kalavarda - Petaloudes - Kalavarda (approx. 31km/19miles)

The valley of Petaloudes (Greek for butterflies) is a beautiful gorge - inhabited by thousands of butterflies in summertime. While sitting, these butterflies are unremarkable yellow and black. Once they fly they colour magnificent red and yellow - an unforgettable experience. Outside summer months this valley is still a popular place with lots of shadow and a refreshing stream running though the gorge.

Day 3: Kalavarda - Archangellos (approx. 40km/25miles)

Todays stage leads from the east coast to the west coast. A short climb brings you to the village of Eleousa, a former Italian garrison base. At Agios Nektarios you're invited into the church of the old monastery. When you're not afraid of a short but steep climb, you can visit the Epta Piges (Seven Springs) surrounded by peacocks. When you reach the west coast at Kolimbia a wonderful but climbing road leads you to Archangellos, the second biggest town on the island, dominated by the ruins of a mighty castle.

Day 4: Archangellos - Lardos (approx. 35km/22miles)

The present stage starts with a downhill ride to Malona and Masari. Enjoy your coffee in one of the villages with nice views over the orange and lemon tree areas. Crossing several river bassins you'll reach the region of Lindos, a medieval town with a big castle built on the ruins of an ancient acropolis. Take a walk to the castle and discover the Doric columns of the ancient sanctuary. Today's stage finishes in Lardos which is situated at a beautiful bay behind a smal but steep hill.

Day 5: Lardos - Apolakkiá (approx. 52km/33miles)

Allthough this stage is the longest of the while tour, it is mostly flatand without significant gradients. You cycle in the extreme south of Rodes through unspoilt villages like Kattavía and Lachaniá. Enjoy the peace for a lunch break in the shade of a plane tree. Todays target is the small village of Apolakkiá where - among the locals - you can observe the daily life on the village square from the terrace of your hotel.

Day 6: Apolakkiá - Embonas (approx. 31km/19miles)

Right from the beginning of today's stage you'll have to manage the longest climb up to Monólithos. The effords nonetheless are rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view over the castle of the village. Siana, the next village, is well known for its honey-specialities. Next you'll have on your right Attaviros, the highest mountain of Rhodes. Enjoy the distant view of the open sea with Chalki and other small islands. In Embonas, todays stage town, don't miss to explore the local wine-cooperatives to taste the wines which belong to the best ones of Rhodes and Greece.

Day 7: Embonas - Kalavarda (approx. 24km/15 miles)

Relaxing is the present stage because it mostly leads downhill.  At the foot of the Profitis Ilias mountainrange lies Salakos with a nice and shady village square - perfect for a relaxing break. Afterwards you'll cycle on to a green valley which ends in Kalavarda. Having finished your tour, the beach of Kalavarda invites you for a swim.

Day 8: Kalavarda

Individual departure or start of an additional week in Rhodes. The transfer from the hotel to the airport is included.
