Ulm - Regensburg - Passau

The city Ulm, starting point of this trip was one of the most important trading towns at the Danube in the past. One of the best known scientists was born in Ulm – Albert Einstein. An unique natural landscape is waiting for you.

Tour profile:

Level 1, mostly flat, on riverside paths.

VERSION 1: ULM - REGENSBURG

Day 1: Ulm

Individual arrival.

Day 2: Ulm - Dillingen/Lauingen (approx. 57 km/35 miles)

Between Ulm and Dillingen you find many small and wonderful preserved villages. The Churches of Elchingen and Günzburg are definitly worth visiting. Today´s destination is Dillingen a former residency town.

Day 3: Dillingen/Lauingen - Donauwörth (approx. 35 km/22 miles)

On your way you will pass the city of Höchstädt with it´s wounderful castle. Finally you will arrive in Donauwörth with its church and narrow alleys.

Day 4: Donauwörth - Ingolstadt (approx. 63 km/39 miles)

The foothills of the Franconian Alb dominate the countryside. In the Afternoon you will reach the little town Neuburg. Your today´s destination is Ingolstadt.

Day 5: Ingolstadt - Kelheim (approx. 46 km/29 miles)

Cycling through hop fields you will reach Bad Gögging. In the afternoon you will go for a ship ride from Weltenburg to Kehlheim.

Day 6: Kelheim - Regensburg (ca. 39 km/24 miles)

Today you will reach the most northern point of the Danube. Regensburg is Germany's best preserved city and a UNESCO world heritage.

Day 7: Regensburg

Individual departure or extension.

VERSION 2: ULM - PASSAU

Day 1 - 6: see Version 1

Day 7: Regensburg - Straubing (approx. 51 km/32 miles)

Today you will cycle through a wide fertile flat area. The so called "Gäuboden". Your destination is Straubing.

Day 8: Straubing - Deggendorf (approx. 41 km/25 miles)

You continue your cycling trip through the beautiful Danube Valley. Passing Mariaposchnig you will reach Deggendorf.

Day 9: Deggendorf - Passau (approx. 57 km/35 miles)

On the last day of your tour you may cycle to the well known Benedictine monastery, Niederaltaich, and passing Winzer you cycle on to Vilshofen. Finally you will reach Passau.

Day 10: Passau

Individual departure or extension.
