Route description Cat. A:

Day 1: Strasbourg

Individual arrival in Strasbourg, settling into the hotel and free time to explore the town.

Day 2: Strasbourg –  Sélestat (approx. 54 km/34 miles)

You will leave Strasbourg along the Rhône-Rhine canal which will lead you along its very pretty cycle track into the heart of the Ried.

Day 3: Sélestat  - Colmar(approx. 38 km/24 miles)

You will travel through the landscapes and villages of the Alsatian Ried  which is rich in aquatic flora and fauna. Arrival in Colmar the capital of the wine of Alsace and the town of art, by the cycle track of the channel of Colmar

Day 4: Colmar – Ottmarsheim (approx. 50 km/31 miles)

Passing through pretty sleepy and flower-bedecked villages you will come to Ottmarsheim where you will visit the Romanesque church.

Day 5: Ottmarsheim - Guebwiller (approx. 36 km/22 miles)

You will leave the banks of the Rhine and the villages of the Sundgau to go to Guebwiller which nestles in the foothills of the Vosges

Day 6: Guebwiller – Kaysersberg (approx. 45 km/28 miles)

At the foot of the Vosges nestle the winemaking villages responsible for the reputation of the Alsatian Grand Crus: Eguisheim, Turkheim, Kaysersberg and Riquewihr.

Day 7: Kaysersberg – Barr/Obernai (approx. 44 km/27 miles)

Along the wine route you will discover the villages of Boersch, Barr, Andlau and its abbey, Bergheim  Ribeauvillé, Hunawihr.

Day 8: Barr/Obernai - Strasbourg (approx. 37 km/23 miles)

 

Country roads and cycle tracks will take you from Rosheim and to Avolsheim. From there, along the cycle track on the banks of the Bruche canal, you will reach the capital of Europe: Strasbourg. Individual departure or extension.

You will leave Strasbourg along the Rhône-Rhine canal which will lead you along its very pretty cycle track into the heart of the Ried.

Day 3: Sand, Huttenheim or Sermersheim - Colmar(approx. 62-69 km/)

You will travel through the landscapes and villages of the Alsatian Ried which is rich in aquatic flora and fauna. Arrival in Colmar the capital of the wine of Alsace and the town of art, by the cycle track of the channel of Colmar

Day 4: Colmar – Ottmarsheim (approx. 50 km/31 miles)

Straßburg - good connections from most big cities in Germany. From Austria connections with change of trains (2-3 x; 7-12 hours). From Switzerland: good connections from Zürich or Bern.

Airport: Paris Charles des Gaulles: with  TGV in approx. 2h 25 minutes to Straßburg. 3 daily connections from airport, 15 connections from Paris city centre.
Frankfurt: Lufthansa offers (for any passenger regardless of their destination and airline.) a shuttle transfer to Straßburg, duration approx. 2h, price € 85,- return.
Entzheim Airport (Air France, KLM; 16 minutes from Straßburg) or Baden Airpark (Ryanair, Airberlin; approx. 45 minutes from Straßburg)
