It all starts with a little spring but in the end it's one of the biggest river in the world – and you can experience these changes from the beginning!

The tour leads through a wild-romantic and fertile countryside to Ulm.

Travel details

Tour profile:

Level 1-2, to a large extent the route is flat and along asphalt paths, some parts of the path run along compressed earthern paths.

Day 1: Donaueschingen

Indivudial arrival.

Day 2: Donaueschingen - Mühlheim (approx. 45 km/28 miles)

The first trip takes you on flat paths through a region called "Baar". After Tuttlingen, the valley narrows slowly and you reach Mühlheim.

Day 3: Mühlheim - Sigmaringen (approx. 45 km/28 miles)

Today a spectacle is waiting for you the "Donaudurchbruch" where the river has broken through huge, rocks of limestone. Few cars will disturb you between Fridingen and Beuron, the cycle path leads along the river to Sigmaringen.

Day 4: Sigmaringen - Riedlingen (approx. 35 km/22 miles)

You leave Sigmaringen and right after the city you will see that the landscape is wider and quite lovely. In Hundersingen you have the possibility to visit a museum that shows the life of the Celts in this region.

Day 5: Riedlingen - Ehingen (approx. 35 km/22 miles)

Today your cycling trip takes you to Zwiefaltendorf where the beautiful moated castle and the Benedictine Abbey are worth visiting. Further on you go to the nice town Munderkingen famous for its timber-framed houses. Your todays destination is Ehingen.

Day 6: Ehingen - Blaubeuren - Ulm (approx. 40 km/25 miles)

Passing Allmendingen and Schelklingen you follow the Danube to Blaubeuren. Medieval castles and ruins are one your way to Ulm.

Day 7: Ulm

Individual departure or extension.
