Individual arrival to Amsterdam. Embarkation between 3 - 5 p.m. In the evening you have the opportunity to get to know the city of Amsterdam.
In the morning you are leaving Amsterdam for Aalsmeer by ship. In Aaslmeer, your cycling tour begins, passing by the West-ernsteiner Plassen Brassemeer until you reach Leiden. During the tulip blossoming (opening hours of the Keuken-hof: 22 March until 20 May) the cycling tour can alternatively be made through the flower fields over Lisse to Kerkenhof.
In the morning you are cycling to Leiden city centre (approx. 3km) From there you are going by bike to the beach of Katwijk at the North Sea, back over the dunes and further on to Alphen aan den Rijn. You are shipping from here to Gouda, the “City of Cheese”.
Prior to breakfast, MS SIR WINSTON leaves Gouda for Rotterdam. Here your today’s cycling tour leads you through Delft (porcelain manufacture), afterwards to the governmental seat Den Haag and to the North Sea coastal town and health resort Scheveningen and back. Alternatively, you can also go back to Rotterdam by train (rail and bike is not included).
Day 5: Rotterdam - Schoonhoven (approx. 38 km/24 miles)
You are cycling from Rotterdam to Kinder-dijk (UNESCO World’s Cultural Heritage with 19 windmills in a row) and further to Schoonhoven. As an alternative you have the possibility to begin your cycling tour in Kinderdijk or end it there.
Today you are cycling through the beautiful landscape of Polderland to Oudewater (witch’s scales) and further on to Utrecht. The Utrecht Dome is one of the most important ones in the Netherlands.
Day 7: Utrecht - Zaandam - Amsterdam (approx. 30 km/19 miles)
In the morning you are shipping from Utrecht over Amsterdam to Zaandam. From here you are cycling to the museum’s village “Zaanse Schans”, an open air museum which was built to show the Dutch historical heritage. You can visit an ancient Dutch village, a cheese manufacture, a shipyard, a Dutch wooden shoe manufacture, a museum of bakery, the Zaanse watch museum and the unique colour mill, De Kat. You are cycling back to Amsterdam through the recreational area of Twiske. In the evening you have the opportunity to take part in a “Grachtenrundfahrt” (shipping on the channels of Amsterdam in small boats).
Individual departure. Disembarkation after breakfast until 9.30 a.m.
