Explore the Kvarner Bay this way with all its scenic and architectural beauties. On board there is a well-trained tour guide to give you tips and to join you in the various activities. He will as well tell you a lot about the eventful history of Croatia.
Our recommendation: caused by limited capacity on the ship we recommend early booking!
The tours do not require any special physical fitness. The walks and short hikes run along good routes- of which some are even asphalted and not very demanding.
Private journey to the starting point Omišalj, a nice, quiet seaport on the isle of Krk. Enjoy the time till boarding and bathe in the Adriatic Sea or have an ice-cream in the nearby ice-cream parlour right at the harbour. At 11 a.m. you may move into your cabin aboard the yacht. At 1 p.m. the ship casts off taking us to the town of Krk. On your way the boat stops so that we may dive from the boat to have a swim in the open sea.
After breakfast the boat takes us to Goli Otok (in Croatian: naked island), a tiny isle, on which from 1949-88 "Tito's Hawai" - a high-security prison - can be found. Although the isle is uninhabited, may, however, be visited. After a guided tour of Goli Otok we sail to the island of Rab, a place counting among the sunniest spots of Europe. In the Middle-Ages the island's fortified capital of the same name was built on a wedge-shaped headland - this is one of the highlights of the journey. The four famous belfries characterize the view of this beautiful, romantic town.
In the morning you cross over from Rab to Lun on the island of Pag. From there we go on a two-hour walk through centuries-old olive groves. On our way we can stop to try the famous and delicious Pag-cheese. Afterwards we set sail for the utmost south of the island of Dugi Otok. On the way there is time to swim again before finally entering the long, protected bay which today forms part of the conservation area of Telašcica. In the late afternoon another walk: this time into the nature park to the famous silver lake and further on to impressive steep cliffs.
Dugi Otok is an ideal island for cycling – on a nearly car free ridge road always new fantastic panorama views of the tiny surrounding islands as well as of the mainland come to one's range of vision. Furthermore there are several small harbours which our boat may enter. This is why an eight-mile cycle tour is on the schedule this morning – a tour that may easily be expanded into an 19-mile ride. After lunch on board we are taken on a relaxing cruise with longer breaks for bathing. In the evening our boat is anchored in a quiet bay where we stay for the night.
After crossing to the flower island of Molat we cycle crossways from one side of this tiny island to the other. On the other side the boat will collect us and we travel on to the island of Lošinj. In the afternoon we start for a walk from Mali Lošinj, an old seafarer town and spa, with a large harbour, various cafés and colourfully painted houses along the spacious promenade with many picturesque bays to Veli Lošinj.
In the morning the boat takes us to the artists' village of Osor, situated on a canal built by the Romans which separates the islands of Cres from that of Lošinj. On a guided tour we learn which association exists between Osor and the Argonauts known from Greek mythology, why there are no longer serpents on Lošinj, and why martens still are a popular means of payment in Croatia. Moreover the bay of Osor with its crystal-clear water tempts to go for a swim before travelling on to the town of Cres.
After an entertaining cruise we approach Lovran on the famous Opatija-Riviera on the Istrian peninsula. From there an about three-hour walk along the promenade takes us up to the chic seaside resort of Opatija where the boat awaits us for a last longer crossing – including bathing stops. In the evening the boat moors at Omisalji on the island of Krk. Returned to our starting point we may finish our eventful journey with a joyful party together with the crew and group leaders after dinner.
After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am and individual trip home or extended stay in Croatia.
The Captain reserves the right to change routing and time table because of navigational security.
