SHIP: Caique ALTINLAR
6 cabins with private facilities (shower and toilet)
- 4 double cabins (with french bed) + 2 double cabins (with french bed) with the possibility of a third bunk bed.
The gulet has been completely renovated in 2007, while all the bathrooms have been renovated in winter 2009.
The ship is 24 m long and 6,20 m wide.
All cabins are simple but functional and comfortable, they are furnished with a French bed, a little wardrobe, and there is enough space to place bag and luggage (please exclude rigid luggage). All cabins have little windows that can be opened and have air-conditioning.
Outside there are 2 decks: one is on the anterior part and has a big solarium with mattresses for all guests. The back deck is covered and has a table for breakfasts and dinners. Aboard catering is our pride, it is the result of a cultural research, suggested by the old recipes of seaside villages. Carpaccio, fresh seafood and vegetables, pasta, meat and the herbs of the Mediterranean scrubs of Campania, are the absolute protagonists on our table.
Level 2, from gently hilly to hilly, always along the coastal line. Asphalted streets open to normal vehicles (it is possible to have some vehicular traffic in some streets along the Amalfi coast - Amalfitana). Suitable for children from 13 yrs on, in good physical conditions and with bike tour-experience.
Individual arrival to Castellamare di Stabia (Naples). Embarkation at 6 p.m. Welcome drink, dinner and presentation of the programme.
Cycle trip to Pompeii and visit of Pompeii and the Villa dei Misteri. It is the biggest open-air archaeological site of the world. A great example of past human life, where the huge eruption of the Vesuvius in 79 A.D fixed forever under ashes and lava men in their daily activities. Return journey to the Marina di Castellammare and departure with the ship towards Sorrento. Overnight on the gulet in Sorrento.
Visit of Sorrento and departure along Sorrento coast. You cross “Passo San Pietro” (St. Peter’s pass) and you reach the Amalfi coast, where you will cycle along the wonderful road overlooking the sea up to Positano. Its colorful houses have been built in amphitheatre shape, overlooking the sea, giving a unique and picturesque aspect to the village. After Positano you continue towards Amalfi, the most powerful Mariner Republic at the end of the X century. We suggest the visits to the cloister of Paradise, the church and a walk along the main street that is connected with many narrow streets between white fisherman’s houses. Return to the gulet and overnight in Amalfi.
From Amalfi you continue your cycle tour along the coast, cycling on a street with some ups and downs overlooking the sea, crossing the villages of Minori, Maiori and Cetara. It is possible to make a deviation and go up towards Ravello, where in the placid beauty of the main square, the Dome dedicated to Saint Pantaleone stands out. The blood of the Saint liquefies every year on 27th July.
From the village dominating the sea from 300 m above sea level, you can enjoy a view beyond the Gulf of Salerno and up to the Cilento mountains. We suggest a visit to Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, whose architecture (a mixture of Arab, Sicilian and Norman style) was an inspiration for Wagner. You return on the road along the coast to finally reach Vietri and Salerno. You come back to the gulet. Overnight in Salerno.
The day starts with a sailing up to Capri. We will have some breaks during the sailing to take a bath and to admire the Amalfi coast from the sea. Arrival in Capri during the morning, in Marina Grande - our arrival port. You visit the Island on foot, you reach the village of Capri with its famous "piazzetta”. Possibility to visit the “Grotta Azzurra”. From above the cliff you can enjoy a wonderful panorama on the Gulf of Naples dominated by the Vesuvius. After the visit you come back to the gulet. We will then sail round the island to
reach the famous “faraglioni” (crags). Overnight in the gulet in Capri.
We sail up to the Island of Procida. Bike tour on the island. You reach again the caique and you sail up to Ischia. You arrive in a small harbor and you will cross by bike the west part of the island, among the scents and flavors of the Mediterranean sea, crossing little villages with the possibility of visiting little museums along the stage. Once we reach the thermal village of S. Angelo, embarkation and overnight in Ischia.
We sail up to Napoli, disembarkation and visit of the city. Starting from “Spacca Napoli”, you will discover the city centre characterized by narrow streets, with washing hung out, baroque churches and palaces, the San-Carlo theatre, the Gallery Umberto the 1st, the Plebiscito Square. In the afternoon we reach again the ship and we sail up to Marina di Castellammare di Stabia. Overnight in the Marina.
Disembarkation at 09.a.m.
