Travel details

Tour profile:

Mostly flat, some uphill stretches and soft hills. On bike paths and quiet side roads.

Day 1: Krimml

Individual arrival.

Day 2: Krimml - Stuhlfelden/Mittersill- Kaprun/Zell am See
(approx.58/66 km or 36/41 miles)

Passing the valley Rosental you cycle onto the entrance to the Obersulzbach Valley and continue downhill through the Pinzgau area. Your today's target is Zell am See or Kaprun.

Day 3: Kaprun/Zell am See - Lofer (approx. 45km/28 miles)

Today you will follow the river Saalach. The cyclepath guides you through the valley of Saalfelden and the pilgrimage place Maria Alm to Lofer. Seisenbergklamm and Lamprechtshöhe are spectacular natural monuments.

Day 4: Lofer - Salzburg/Siezenheim (approx. 56km/35 miles)

At Unken the "Steinerne Meer" breaks through the Saalach. Following the river bank you will reach  the spa town Bad Reichenhall and the Salzburger basin. Through the meadow of the Saalach to the City of Salzburg.

Day 5: Salzburg (day of rest)

Enjoy one day in Salzburg and discover the beautiful Mozartcity by bike. You can visit the wonderful castle Mirabell, the birthhouse of Mozart as well as the fortress Hohensalzburg.

Day 6: Salzburg/Siezenheim - Braunau/Simbach (approx. 76km/47miles)

You cycle along the Salzach through Oberndorf and Burghausen, where you can visit the greatest castle complex in Europe, until Braunau or Simbach.

Day 7: Braunau/Simbach- Passau (approx. 69km/43miles)

On your way to Passau you cycle through a bird- and nature reserve along the river Inn. Or cycle through Schärding, the most beautiful baroque city in Austria.

Day 8: Passau

Individual departure or extension.
