Danube Ship Ride and Tour details

Tour profile:

Level 1: the cycling path is completely paved from one end to the other, flat, almost always directly along the riverbank and is also very suitable for beginners and children.

Day 1: Vienna

Embarkation from 2 p.m. on ship landing station Nußdorf. After taking your cabin there is still some time left before dinner starts to take a short walk to one of the typical Viennese wine taverns "Heurigen". In the evening you can relaxe and dance in the bar of the shop. Shortly before midnight your cruise up to Passau will start.

Day 2: Krems - Emmersdorf (approx. 36 km)

Your todays biking day is a special highlight! Admits small dreamy towns, apricot trees, vineyards, castles, monasteries and ruins, this hilly landscape enchants everybody. You will be biking on cloud nine! In Weißenkirchen you will find wine taverns right along the bike path. For sure, you can also enjoy the beautiful landscape on the sun deck. After a ceremonial gala dinner, lots of fun and enterainment can be experienced during a crew show.

Day 3: Passau (Disembarkation - End of the Trip)

Every journey draws to an end. Once again you enjoy on deck the first sunbeams and the peaceful silence of the Danube Valley. Take a last sight at the Schlögener Schlinge (= "Great Loop")before you arrive relaxed at Passau.
Arrival: approx. 12 a.m., disembarkation half an hour later. We suggest for continuing connections for your jounrey home up from 2 p.m.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Our bike tours are unescorted. All mileages are approximate distances of recommended routes. Please be aware that the cabin storage space is very limited.

In case of flood or low tide, the shipping company reserves the right to bridge parts of passages by buses. In extreme situations, the shipping company reserves the right to cancel the journey on short notice. No legal right shall be constituted of both situations. (Water level is force majeure). The same applies for officially ordered - previously not announced - repair work on locks or bridges or in case of undeserved breakdown of engine or power unit.
Please be aware that this ship, the MS THEODOR KÖRNER, like all other ships on the Danube, is not only your hotel but also a machine, working with engine power also during the night. Especially crossing locks and bridges - and the preparation work - may cause noise. If you are sensitive to noises, please bring your own ear plugs.

In Austria it is mandatory for children under 12 yrs to wear a helmet when on a bike.

is a very spacious nostalgic ship of traditional shipbuilding skill with a very comfy atmosphere. On board the guest is king! Your bike tour through various countries is also a culinary expedition through the diversity of the national and the regional cuisine; in the evening a musician will perform for dance!!
Board facilities:
The ship possesses a Restaurant, a Panorama-Bar, a salon as well as a broad sun deck with comfortable deck-chairs. Books and magazines of our library provide relaxation and reading pleasure, parlour games offer all kinds of disport
Cabins:
Our dignified furnished cabins are cosy, rustic, approx. size 8-10 m2 and equipped with either 2 adjoined beds or with bunk beds, en suite (shower and toilet), TV, radio and air condition. 3- Bed-Cabin: Wiendeck: 2 adjoined beds and 1 upper bed; Linzdeck: 3 adjoined beds. The windows can be opened in all cabins on Wiendeck and in the bunk bed cabins amidships on Linzdeck.
